Training
Depending on their committment to Gymnastics, Adults can choose to attend our weekly Recreational Pay-as-you-Go sessions as often or as little as they like. There is no long term committment to come to training every week, even though many find it beneficial.
Recreational Sessions
The Recreational Adult training sessions run once a week on a Tuesday from 19:00 to 21:00 and as mentioned above, there is no committment to regularly attend
If it's your first time, you will need to let us know in advance that you're coming. Just call 01256 352858 and speak to the Duty Receptionist on the front desk. When you arrive they will take your details then send you to meet us in the main gym.
Adults arrive ready to begin the warm up at 18:55. This involves gentle stretching and flexing of the body to ensure that joints and muscles are prepared for the rest of the session.
Following the warm up we work through a selection of floor elements, from the very basic forward rolls and cartwheels to the more complicated tumbling moves. Newcomers are not expected to do everything on their first few sessions. We would like see what you can do and practice this until you do it well, rather than try the more complicated bits and do yourself some damage.
When everyone is warm, the men will then go off to practice their first piece of apparatus for the evening, which is usually one of P Bars, Rings or High Bar. The ladies tend to stay on the floor and practice their dance elements, which the men aren't too fond of: Spins, Leaps, Jumps and Hops.
Following the warm up, most of the equipment in the gym is available for the adults to use, and therefore we tend to run a relaxed session. The coaches are there for help and advice when needed. If you would like to learn something new, just ask
